Ambassadors for Jesus
Committed to Learning and Growing in Him

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. ~1 Corinthians 12:4-6
"I'm going to the deli to get some lunch. Would you like anything?"
Angela looked up from the chart she was reading and replied, "A club sandwich sounds good about now, thanks Barb."
Mondays at the clinic were generally busy but she was grateful today that was not the case. It would give her more time to address the needs of each patient. In her office she contemplated the growing cases of food poisoning. Angela knew each case needed to be addressed individually regarding finer details, although she also knew that often the root of the problem was similar.
In questioning her patients about their diets most didn't appear to be consuming anything unusual that would warrant such symptoms. She remained puzzled as to where this food was coming from and it was becoming quite grievious to her. It was time she sought more earnestly along those lines. Soon those overseeing the community were having their bi-weekly meeting. She would make plans to join them and bring it up. Angela then focused on the chart and x-rays before her, she then proceeded to enter her next patient's room.
"Kyle, how's my little man doing?"
"I feel much better, right mom?"
"Yes, baseball try outs are in two weeks and he's eager to have permission to play," Stephanie offered as an explanation for his enthusiasm.
"I see, well now let's take a look at that arm and see how it's coming along."
Kyle pulled it out from its sling and offered, "It doesn't hurt," as Angela carefully maneuvered it in different positions while examining it.
Angela then turned to the x-rays. "It's healed up nicely," she noted with delight. "I know you've been looking forward to this baseball season Kyle but I need to know that you are being totally honest with me. It doesn't hurt at all?"
"No," Kyle answered without hesitation. "It feels great!"
"I can vouch for him Angela. He's been really dedicated to getting better and has heeded your advice. His recover has been nothing less than miraculous."
Angela was very pleased. "I'm glad to hear it. We serve an awesome God...and it helps when the patients are committed."
Turning back to Kyle she commended him, "Kyle, you've been a wonderful patient." Then looking back at Stephanie she added, "I don't see any reason why he couldn't play. I'll sign the release without any limitations but I would like to see him in a month for a final follow-up."
Kyle reached over and gave her a big hug while saying, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Angela laughed, "Your welcome. Now you be careful on that bike. We all enjoy the thrill of speed but we have to exercise some wisdom. You've had first hand experience with the dangers that can come with it. It isn't worth it if it's going to put you in jeopardy Kyle. The thrill of the moment can end up costing you in the long run."
Kyle listened intently and nodded, "Yes ma'am, I've learned my lesson. Does that mean I can have my bike back too?" He asked hopefully.
"Now that is a question for your mom and dad. I can release you but as their child they are the ones that are in the position of determining what is best for you. Understand?"
He nodded again and turned his hopeful eyes to his mom.
"We'll talk it over at home with your dad Kyle. You know we don't make these type of decisions on our own but as a family. It's best this way and the way God has intended the family to work."
Angela then addressed Stephanie. "I'll see you both back here in a month. Until then do feel free to give me a call if you have any further questions."
"Thanks again Angela. I'll keep tabs on him," Stephanie assured her before Angela left the room.
As Angela made her way to the reception area she saw what appeared to be a familar face and called out, "Alex?"
At hearing her voice he turned to face her. "Angela, good to see you." Alex then greeted her with a warm hug.
"Good to see you too. What brings you this way? Everything ok?" she asked over his shoulder.
He pulled back to face her again, "It's Bill's wife Anna, she doesn't look well and her temperature is quite high. She looks like she's suffering from malnutrition. I spoke with them and advised them to come see you."
"I see...have they been brought back yet?"
"Yes, they are both waiting in the third room."
"Good, I'll look in on them next. I was just thinking about you and the others. Your next scheduled community meeting is in two weeks, correct?"
"Same time, same place. Are you coming?" he inquired.
"I plan on it. I could use help with something, input and feedback."
"That's what those meetings are all about," Alex informed her. "You know you are always welcome to join us."
"Yes, I know. Thank you," she said gratefully. "It's been awhile and it's about time I got back in touch with what's going on overall. God willing I'll be there at the next meeting."
Alex was happy to hear it. "It'll be great to have you. I'm sure the others will feel the same way too? We missed you and Rudy at the Superbowl party."
"I heard it was great. That's been the buzz around here this morning. We did want to go but it was just easier to stay at home with the kids rather than try and work around that...but anyway, I'll check in on them now. Are you going to stick around?"
Alex nodded yes, "Unless I get called away but if I do I plan on returning."
"Ok, then I hope to see you later. I'll have Anna and Bill keep you posted as they choose, but I plan on doing all I can."
"Thank you Ange," Alex said giving her another hug. "I know you will, and that you seek our Great Physician on our behalf."
