Stories to warm the heart and encourage our journeys

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. -Matthew 6:31-33

As I was cleaning the other morning, I had thoughts rushing through my head thinking what will we eat for dinner, with only 1/4 cup of milk, 1 hot dog and a few tomatoes. The thought was overwhelming, but I also had a sense not to worry! As I was straightening out the shoes by the door, I thought I heard a strange noise outside the front door. I ignored the noise and continued cleaning, it was time to take out the trash. When I opened the door, there was, I kid you not, a 19"color T.V. and a Gamecube System with a note a neighbor left at my front door. The note read he had no need for these items and for some reason he felt he should give it to us. I never met the neighbor, but every so often we wave at each other. We definitely made good use of the T.V., though, we already had a gamecube, we knew we could keep the one he gave us and sell ours at gamestop. We got just enough to get juice, milk and a couple of things to last us the 2 day before payday.
I believe what God was trying to show me was, "He will give us what we need; not what we want!" Because he knew what I thought I needed was money, but what I really needed was to see kindness in others and my first instinct was since we already had a gamecube, what children could I do the same for and bless them with this system not bringing it to gamestop to get money, but to do something special as someone had done for us. God truly knows our heart and will give us the opportunity to bless others in mysterious ways!
