Keeping it Simple Pt 3,
What's the Problem?

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. ~1 John 4:10-12
By now you should be aware that I am a detailed gal. It's my gift, details. It's like I see a bunch of seeds all clumped together and feel it would probably help the situation to see those seeds individually, while understanding how they fit into the whole. With this I also know that there is power in simplicity, and this is what I was faced with not too long ago when a brother shared this with me, "God just wants us to love Him." Several days later another brother shared, "Our problem is that we don't love God enough". I recognized the truth in their words and have shared on the topic myself. We also know that loving God is more than having affections for Him, it is also expressed in obedience, yet the problem was more amplified and powerful to me as it stood on its own.
When it comes down to it, our problems stem from not loving God as He deserves to be loved. Hand-in-hand with that is our need to be found in Jesus where we will grow in the awareness and understanding of Father's great love for us. From that place our love for Him and others grows and blooms. His love is the force that captures our hearts, destroys the idols therein, and elevates it to that blissful state in Him....
May we draw close to Him so that He can captivate us by his great love for us and in essence we can understand what living is truly all about.
