“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” ~John 12-15
There's alot of say nowadays about what we should be doing and what is the truth. Some feel that scriptures are too diverse to give us clear answers and direction. Armed with this belief, some can even appear to be advocating against the use of scripture.
Diversity is no reason to abandon the holy scriptures. They do not contradict themselves, one just needs the Author, the Holy Spirit, to fully understand what is being conveyed. The natural man cannot understand the things of the Spirit. Do you know what the Holy Spirit's role in the believer's life is?
I see a great need for this understanding within the body of Christ, especially in these three:
1. The Holy Spirit is our Leader and He always leads by Way of Jesus Christ. Jesus is our root, and from that root his Sap-the Holy Spirit, flows through our lives and bears good fruit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, good deeds, etc).
2. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher. Yes, there are teachers the Lord has given as a gift to his body, but ultimately it is the Holy Spirit's role to teach us personally what has been given to Him from Christ.
3. The Holy Spirit is the Revealer. Revelation entails more than knowledge. It is intimate knowledge and unity with the Heart of God, the Holy Spirit Himself.
Remember this as you hear, read, participate in conversations, and just go about your life. Some advocate one way or another on the surface but what we really need is to understand that there is only one true Way and it is found in the deep recesses of our Heavenly Father's Heart in Christ. From there the Holy Spirit can lead us in various directions on the surface according to what is called for, and He will always lead by way of Jesus Christ, the Living Word and the love of our Heavenly Father personified.
Let Him lead you. Let Him teach you. Let Him reveal Jesus to you. In doing so, you will also allow Him to heal you. We can and should acknowledge how He does use people too (that's important not to lose sight of that), but ultimately we are accountable to our Lord foremost to hear from Him personally and allow Him to direct our personal lives.
