Robin's Egg Blue Eyes

I love this story from "When I Lay My Issac Down" by Carol Kent. It came from a letter she received (the whole book is a wonderful story too of a rough patch in her life and how God stretched her vision, using what the enemy meant for harm for good). Anyway, the story as best as my memory serves, but my account really pales in significance to reading his account.
Here it is:
He had fallen for a woman. Believe they may have both been Christians but unsure...
Anyway, they were two souls that had found a deeper connection. She was married, he was not. She had his heart...
"Robin's egg blue" he described her eyes.
And she had found in him what she had not found in her husband, someone who could open up about his feelings and such. I can't remember all he said about her but it was clear he was smitten and they knew if it kept up they were headed for an affair...
They would meet for meals and talk and were getting intimately acquainted... then one day she called and said she couldn't do this anymore...and she was gone.
He was brokenhearted. He lay on the floor not wanting to get up. He was just leftovers. That's all he felt he had been all his life. He had had affairs before (though in this case they didn't get there physically, but emotionally bonded / soul tie) and that's all he felt he was, leftovers. Even with his mom he felt like he had been working to win her love and approval, but he felt like leftovers all his life.
So he shares his state, laying on the floor not wanting to get up...and then the words came...something like, "Do you want to get better?" He gave it a sarcastic reply, "What kind of a question is that? Do I want to get better? Do you think I enjoy being leftovers and being in this state? What kind of a question is that?"
He thought of the lame man that Jesus approached in the bible. The one that had been waiting for years by the pool so he could find healing when the waters stirred. Jesus asked him a similar question. What kind of question is that?
"Then come towards me." And then he found the eyes to be...
"Robin's egg blue".
Do you see it?
Although he still missed her...he's dating God now and progressing in his relationship with Him.
