It is raining today. I like rainy days. Gives me an excuse to stay in. But today is a different rainy day for me. I plan on planting some plants I
purchased at Walmart yesterday. No, this is not the parking-lot of Disney World but Walmart. And this is the slower one.
I have a pretty private backyard (left picture) but one side is bare of sufficient plants (right picture) and I would like to change that.
Don't know how well you can tell by the picture but it shows my chainlinked fence in open view, and a partial view into my neighbor's backyard. I plan on changing that. Nothing personal against my neighbors, I just like the privacy and feel of a natural environment that plants give a yard. I go out to see people and even though I don't mind and welcome company, my home is my little oasis from it all where I can tune out the world and the many voices therein.
The plants I purchased are just babies but I don't expect them to take too long to grow. I'm finding the atmosphere very therapeutic. I had actually considered selling for a few reasons, one being for change, but after spending time in my yard again I am once again reminded of the natural surroundings I am in. How therapeutic it is and a wonderful place to commune with God as I gaze upon his awesome craftmanship and marvel at his works of art.
Although change on the exterior can help, we need not neglect the most important area of the life within.
Habakkuk 2:13-14
Has not the Lord of Heaven’s Armies promised
that the wealth of nations will turn to ashes?
They work so hard,
but all in vain!
For as the waters fill the sea,
the earth will be filled with an awareness
of the glory of the Lord.
